have stayed here several times in the past and I have no complaints about the staff, rooms or service. It has always been good.
My room was large, clean, well lit and well-appointed. It had the usual microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom, while small, was very clean and had the necessary amenities although nothing more than the usual shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion. My problem with the bathroom? When I went to get out of the tub the non-skid surface wasn't all that great and I slipped a bit. Had I not been used to this type of thing in hotels all over the world I might well have fallen. The tub coating needs to be redone.
I was greeted promptly at the front desk by a young lady who was obviously in training, and her Mentor. They did a wonderful job checking me in rapidly, acknowledging my status with Holiday Inns, and in general being cheerful and courteous.
Beautiful rooms. Very helpful and courteous staff. Had a very nice stay. Thank you to the great people in Minot.
However I am disappointed about the rates that are being charged for the State Pool Tournament that is being held the weekend of Jan 4-7, 2018. I was quoted a rate of $140 per night for this weekend. Looking online at the rates for the weekend before and after the tournament shows the rate to be between $70 and $80. To nearly double the rate on the weekend the tournament is being held at the hotel is price gouging and I think the hotel management should be ashamed of themselves.
The room was large and clean. My problem with it was that the couch had worn spots on the arms. They did not go through the fabric, or actually I guess vinyl, but they should have been addressed.
I refuse to support a hotel that price gouges and instead found a nearby motel (Sierra Inn) for $53 per night for the same weekend and the reviews for this motel are also better than the Holiday Inn.
The place is connected to a Ground Round restaurant. The restaurant itself was relatively unremarkable but that did not take away from my rating. One thing that did, however, is the fact that breakfast is not served until 6:30. That makes it relatively useless to those of us who have early flights. Starting at 5:30 or even 6 would be better.
The lobby has a very nice looking Lounge. There is a business center, a swimming pool, a hot tub and an exercise room
The rates are very reasonable. It is only 8 minutes or so from the Minot International Airport making it perfect for an early morning departure. All in all, while not being quite perfect I would most certainly stay here again.
Nice place. Good service and people. Some minor things need fixing. spend a lot of my time on the road and I'm a pretty tough reviewer. This Holiday Inn is excellent but not quite a 5-star review.
Meeting rooms were very nice and the staff was on the ball! Would recommend!
The girl Joey at the front desk was awesome. Made me feel welcomed. Melissa was great in the bar as well. Will definitely be coming back
